We are excited to announce a new initiative by the LetsTalkPPCM nonprofit—our Free Birth Doula Training Program. This unique program is designed to equip aspiring doulas with the knowledge and skills necessary to support women at risk for Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (PPCM) during their pregnancy and postpartum journey.
Peripartum Cardiomyopathy is a life-threatening heart condition that can develop in the last month of pregnancy or up to five months postpartum. Early detection, proper care, and informed support can make a significant difference in outcomes for women at risk. Our program specifically trains doulas to recognize the signs and symptoms of PPCM, advocate for timely diagnosis, and provide the compassionate care these women need.
