Meet Lisa Schwartz

We are beyond thrilled to announce that the incredible Lisa Schwartz has joined our board at LetsTalkPPCM! 

As a PPCM survivor, accomplished author, actress, and beloved media personality with 2 million unique subscribers on her YouTube channel (you might recognize her as the voice of Talking Angela!), 

Lisa brings a unique blend of talent, passion, and personal experience to our mission.

In 2023, after a failed two-day induction resulted in a high-risk C-Section, Lisa was blessed to become a new mother to a beautiful healthy baby girl. When finally released from the hospital, Lisa noticed her body had swollen to an unfathomable size. She was assured this was “normal” and would “go away”. But after laying flat and realizing she couldn’t breathe, Lisa went to Urgent Care to come to find out that her lungs were full of fluid. 

Lisa would later be admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with Postpartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) which is an often-unrecognized form of heart failure that occurs during pregnancy or up to 12 months postpartum. The condition weakens the heart muscle and causes the heart to become enlarged. She was given proper treatment and released to go home.
